Information on Energy Efficiency and Affordable Warmth
Chiltern District Council is committed to helping local householders to save energy, save money and benefit from warmer homes.
Improved energy efficiency in the home not only results in a warmer home at a lower cost but also:
- helps reduce the incidence of mould growth on walls, furnishing and clothing stored in damp, cold and poorly ventilated homes
- helps reduce the incidence of respiratory illness often caused by living in cold, damp homes.
- helps reduce the production of carbon dioxide and therefore benefits the environment.
What can homeowners do to become more energy efficient?
- Complete a free Home Energy Check to find out how to reduce your energy consumption.
- Follow the Energy Saving Trust's top tips, many of which can be achieved for little or no cost.
- Find out about grants and discounts available for making energy efficiency improvements.
